CLASSROOM (THEORY & ANALYSIS)

I disagree with David Allen, organization is the least of my problems. I have no issue remembering what I need to get done, particularly in reference to school. The issue for me at least is motivation and no amount of crossing things off a list or getting work done has helped, all my work is organized already within Schoology.

WHAT I LEARNED and PROBLEMS I SOLVED

I learned about GTD and basic organization. A workflow or map of my goals might be helpful to get things done. I learned I should make a map of all the things I should do. I solved the problem of not having a passing grade in School of Rock so I did the Week 10 blogpost.

Developing Quality Workflow

What is Workflow?

Image Creative Workflow from Behance.com, https://www.behance.net/gallery/27919515/Creative-workflow-GIF

Work•flow /ˈwərkflō/

“The sequence of industrial, administrative, or other processes through which a piece of work passes from initiation to completion.” – lexico.com

What is a quality workflow?  How do we develop it?  Below are elements of the production cycle that most creative people move through as they create something.  First, we must identify the stages of project production. What is each stage and what are the quality checks for each stage.  Read on and find out!

Stages of Creation Development

Inspiration

How do we find ideas to develop?

  • Look for new or alternative creations
  • Start brainstorming what would need to be done
  • Self evaluate your work, could you do better?
  • Who are you trying to please? If all it is is just a pointless grade in a gradebook then why do it

Intention

How do we clarify our specific goal(s) for a project?

  • Identify the goals for the project by reading the schoology post
  • Ask others about their work and intention
  • How might people compare ours to others
  • Who wants this made this way and why?

Pre-production

How can we brainwrite, brainstorm, storyboard, and plan our ideas at this phase?

  • Write down are record ideas
  • Small focused group discussion often leads to good ideas
  • How does the project make quality work
  • Consult peers about ideas

Production

How do we communicate with each other and execute our plan for this phase? This is where we actually make the project.

  • Cooperate and organize work to get things done on time
  • Create a product them evaluate before proceeding
  • Does the work reflect the effort you put into it?
  • Ask others for opinions

Post-production

How do we communicate with each other and execute our final stages of the project for this phase? This is where we publish the project.

  • Work together to find the right balance for the project
  • Trial and Error until we’re satisfied with the result
  • We measure quality by how good it sounds
  • Reflect on the product, should it be reasonably better?

Presentation/Performance

How do we share our project with our learning community, advisory members, and the world?

  • Use our performance and public speaking skills
  • Perform a mock presentation of performance
  • Did you have fun?
  • Did people enjoy your project?

Feedback

How do we conduct a feedback session at the end of the project development cycle?

  • What are people saying
  • Are the critiques reasonable and balanced
  • Does the quality equal the effort?
  • Are criticism made by qualified opinions

Recipe For Success: Che Guevara

https://www.biography.com/political-figure/che-guevara

Che Guevara - Quotes, Fidel Castro & Life - Biography

Born: June 14, 1928, in Rosario, Argentina

Died: October 9, 1967, La Higuera, Bolivia

Personal Success Definition

I define success as contributing to the working class struggle by fighting or working for rights and humanities while others would seek to exploit and profit endlessly.

Che Guevara achieved success by liberating Cuba from their oppressors and later continuing to fight for freedom in the Congo before being brutalized by American interests in Bolivia and buried in a unmarked grave before his body was recovered.

Skills For Success

In his life Che acquired many skills. He studied medicine becoming a physician before traveling the South America twice. In the Cuban revolution he proved himself a quintessential military strategist with his leadership and organization leading to the victory of the Bay of Pigs. His skill as a thinker are still today insightful with his contributions to Marxist thinking such as his idea of a “new man” driven by morals rather than the commodification of himself or other material incentives.

How They Used These Skills

Che used his skills in governance and diplomacy to establish equitable and economically progressive Cuban society where he held the position of Finance Minister and President of the National Bank where he advocated for progressive ideas such as gender-blindness, anti-consumerism, anti-imperialism, and egalitarianism. As director of the Instruction Department of Revolutionary Armed Forces he prepared Cuban people to defend themselves from coming colonial attacks, his leadership and instruction was instrumental to the Bay of Pigs and the larger effort against counter-revolutionaries domestically. He also became a accomplished diplomat speaking to the UN and traveling to nearly every major nation being called a “revolutionary statesmen of world stature”, he famously spoke at the UN in 1964 condemning South Africa’s Apartheid and the US’s policy towards their black population as-well as the breach’s of international sovergity by the West

Challenges Overcome

Che fought in 3 armed revolutions, losing his life in the 3rd. His experience as a revolutionary warfighter and a Combat Medic brought him to long guerilla campaigns against seemingly insurmountable odds spending countless days and nights marching and fighting in rugged terrain saving lives of his comrades. Same as Castro experienced many assassination attempts so did Che with one involving a Woman trying to sneak into his hotel with a 7 inch hunting knife and another when a Man on a boat attempted to hit him with a Bazooka, both of these attempts were during his trip to speak to the UN.
